Al Fresco Wedding in Mallorca
Wedding Photographer in Mallorca
One year ago today, Bank Holiday Monday 2018, I photographed a wedding in Mallorca for Dominique and Terry. I’d met them before, as guests, at Lucy and Tom’s wedding in Suffolk. We got together again for an engagement shoot in London in the run up to their big day. By the time it came around to their wedding, it was like meeting up with old friends. In fact, there were quite a few familiar faces from the Barn Wedding in Suffolk, where I had first got to know them. It was wonderful to catch up with their friends and especially lovely to catch up to Lucy and Tom!
This was my second time this year as a destination wedding photographer, having flown abroad for a beautiful destination wedding in Portugal just a few months before. On this occasion, I flew out the day before, straight after another amazing wedding at Childerley Hall, to get settled in. Although I was a little tired, a trip to the beach and a couple of drinks, with Dominique, Terry and their friends, soon saw me right.
On the day of their sunny Mallorca wedding, because of the crazy heat (yes, hotter than this Bank Holiday weekend!), I didn’t leave my hotel, or the comfort of the air conditioning, until about 1pm, first joining Dominique, before heading on to join Terry and the wedding guests at a lovely little taverna, overlooking the Mediterranean, in Can Picafort, where they had chosen to host their celebrations. The couple took a laid-back approach to things, it did not need to be immaculate but it did reflect them. There focus was on good food, drink and company and lot’s of dancing. The whole celebration was even more fun than I had expected and the party went on well into the small hours. I was blown away that they chose to fly me out for their wedding and feel honoured and immensely lucky to have been chosen to capture it all for them!
Rob was the perfect photographer for us. He was charming and super fun but captured everything in a very unique way. He captured everyone in their natural way and those pictures have proved to be the best memories we have of our wedding day. We flew Rob out to Majorca for our wedding and that’s the best decision we made! Our pictures are timeless and beautiful. Thanks Rob!
