A Voewood Wedding | Elisabeth & Simon
Voewood Wedding Photography
Voewood has been a home from home this wedding season - it's been a couple of months though since I was last there and I'm feeling a little homesick! And so I took to reminiscing over Elisabeth and Simon's wonderful Voewood wedding in North Norfolk this afternoon. Here's a few of my favourite photographs from their day.
When I arrived at Voewood, preparations were busily getting underway. The main hall, under the watchful eye of David Bowie, was being decorated with balloons. Elisabeth and her bridal party were in the honeymoon suite having their hair and make-up done and Simon was busily playing pool!
Quirky Wedding Venue
Elisabeth and her bridal party were getting ready in one of the lightest rooms in the house. A Country Life article in 1909 described Voewood thus: 'Everywhere there is sweetness and light ' add to that a great sense of space, numerous quirky little features and the most eclectic decor and you have one of the best alternative wedding venues around. One of my favourite things about Voewood is the light and space and the fact that more often than not, the Bride and Groom can both get ready at Voewood and not risk bumping into each other, such is the size of the place!
My Favourite Moments
Two of my favourite photos on this particular day were of Elisabeth's mum and dad. They are pictures of pure joy upon seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress!
It was a perfect day all in all, an absolute dream wedding. Simon waited nervously by the inglenook fireplace in the main hall as Elisabeth, escorted by her proud father, came up the aisle to meet him. The love in their eyes, as they met for the first time that morning, still makes my heart melt.
Following a beautiful ceremony, a truly great gathering of friends and family, helped the Voewood party house truly come to life.
A huge pleasure to have been a part of this day. A massive and heartfelt thanks to the #sillystodel - enjoy.
